Lean Development

Definition of Lean Development:

Lean Development is one method within Agile. Lean started at Toyota in the 1950s (also known as just-in-time production) and the Lean IT principles to improve loss reduction, minimize waste and encourage sustainable production.

Use of Lean Development:

The key goal of Lean Development is to reduce or eliminate waste, and therefore focuses on including only the most valuable features of a product and delivering them in increments to create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Lean Development uses prioritization of the backlog, short feedback loops, frequent unit testing, and team efficiency to succeed. Lean works with the Kanban approach of pulling work from the backlog, and improving workflow speed and efficiency.
